Purpose
The purpose of this bursary is to recognize an Atlético Kingston FC player who has
demonstrated outstanding commitment to the club through participation as a player, referee,
coach, volunteer, or contributor to club activities, while also making positive impacts or
contributions to the broader community. The bursary is intended to support a deserving
student-athlete who would benefit from financial assistance to pursue post-secondary
education, helping them continue their academic journey while acknowledging their dedication,
service, and character.
Available Bursary Opportunities
A total of four bursaries are available:
- 2 Male Bursaries
- 1 × $1,500
- 1 × $1,000
- 2 Female Bursaries
- 1 × $1,500
- 1 × $1,000
Selection Criteria
Applicants should clearly demonstrate how they meet the established eligibility and selection
criteria and written statements should reflect the purpose of the bursary as described above.
Volunteer and coaching experience that is compensated with an honorarium is considered
eligible. Employment that provides a salary or wages is not considered eligible for this criterion.
Previous bursary recipients will only be considered after all eligible first-time applicants have
been reviewed.
Disclaimer
The selection committee reserves the right to allocate the available bursary funding in the
manner it considers most appropriate. While four bursaries are anticipated (two for male
applicants and two for female applicants), the Bursary Committee may adjust the distribution
of awards if, in its judgment, doing so best reflects the quality of applications received and
supports the objectives of the bursary program.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must have been a member of Atlético Kingston FC within the past
three (3) years. Eligible applicants must also be enrolled in post-secondary education for the
academic year in which their bursary is awarded (or starting in the fall semester for summer
awards). Eligible applicants will be evaluated based on their service to the club, as well as their
involvement in the broader community.
